A partnership between the ING Foundation and The Spastic Centre has been declared the winner in the NSW Large Business Category of the 2007 Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Community Business Partnerships.

Brendan Keys, ING Australia Executive Director - People and Performance, accepting the Prime Minister

This prestigious award acknowledges the ING Foundation’s partnership with The Spastic Centre, recognising the long-term nature of its relationship with this charity partner, the numerous events and fundraising activities organised and the depth of the ING staff’s engagement.

The ING Foundation was established in 1978 to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged Australians, particularly children. The Foundation not only provides financial assistance, it also encourages all ING staff to get involved at a grassroots level with charitable organisations, and to make a real difference in the lives of others.

The Spastic Centre has been serving those suffering from cerebral palsy in the community for over 60 years. The ING Foundation partnership with the Centre focuses on the Centre’s Conductive Education Program, which helps children with cerebral palsy learn every-day skills.

Paul Bedbrook, CEO ING Australia, says this achievement would not have been possible without the significant support and involvement of all ING staff:

“Since partnering with The Spastic Centre in 1999, ING staff have taken part in numerous fundraising and volunteering activities, generously donating their time and support to the great work this charity does within our community. At ING Australia, we recognise the clear link between our business and the social, environmental and economic well-being of our customers and the community.”
